Reading these stories resonates with me because my father was an immigrant coming to the U.S. with nothing but the some clothes, a pillow, and whatever money he had. He came this country to make a better life for himself. He is a proud American citizen and happily works in skilled trades at Ford. Although he is grateful for what he has been able to achieve here, he misses his home...his family. The one time I had met my grandmother from my fathers side, we were in Jordan and my dad hasnt seen his mother in 12 years. That was the one and only time i met her i was too young, only faintly remembering this.
